Forum Stalker!

I don't know if anyone can relate to this, or cares, but a strange thing happened to me this morning at about 5:00. I usually erase junk off my email and then check into my favorite forums in twin talk before I put the coffee on.

This morning for some reason I noticed a name next to mine on the "forum users currently using this thread" feature at the bottom of the page. It was a user name I didn't recognize, but what the heck, I don't know them all.

I started reading another thread and happened to notice that that person was on it too.

I went to a third topic, and sure enough, he was there again!

So I figured I'd wait a few minutes and call up a topic at random that I had no interest in.....You guessed it. He was there!

I'm sure it's just a coincidence. But it was really weird.

i don't know about the coincidence thing. i had a forum stalker for about 3 1/2 months.

I once had an ex girlfriend stab her own cat to death and put it on my front porch.

Online stalkers seem kind of harmless in comparion.

Rmak, Bonniegirl & Readmarx, that is freakin' weird. Even though the entire telemarketing and homeland security world is watching, there's something about being online (like on this forum) that makes you feel like you're in charge. That would give me the jim-jams.

Speaking of freaks, I'm so glad you've moved on from that lovely-sounding woman, Antique_Engine. You have, haven't you?

I'm paranoid enough, never had enough sense to look at the 'who is here' at bottom of the thread, now you got me looking over my shoulder

I regularly right mouse click and open a topic in a new tab each time, rather than going back and forth. That enables me to be reading one post while other multiple topics are still downloading, thereby maximising the effectiveness of my slow internet.

For that reason I (or someone using the same porcedure as me) probably show as being logged into 5+ topics at the same time. Someone doing that could mistakenly appear as a stalker if another member went from one topic and immediately found them on the same next topic but in fact they are just logged into 2 or more.

I would think it would have to be one sick puppy to resort to stalking on a Triumph forum when they could go find some dating site to stalk. If I started receiving a barrage of PM's though or freakish replies to my posts - it would be a different story. (no crazy PM's to me after this or I will look like this )
