Today I did a 180 mile ride to southeastern Ohio. It was a great ride, so it's not one of the two bad things.
Bad thing one. Three deer crossed my path. The were in a group a the side of the road and I could see them from a long way off. I slowed down to let them go and they went. So it wasn't that bad.
Bad thing two. When I was almost home a Sheriff's Deputy pulled me over after I passed two cars. I guess the first pass wasn't the problem, only the second. You see he said I started my pass with a dashed center line but it was solid when I came back into my lane. I said "I could see a half mile down the road and it was clear, how was I to know the passing zone was so short". I handed over my license, proof of insurance and registration and waited. He let me off with a written warning. I was polite and complied. No big deal. They always just give me a warning. So anyway, I guess the second bad thing wasn't that bad either.
