It would be nice if they had shown the bikes actual speed. I don't think tunnel vision would have been quite so pronounced as shown in the video for the speed the bike seemed to be going (ignoring the 2-stroke whine as a distraction). Certainly an issue to be aware of, but I think this PSA exaggerated to make the point.
I hit a smallish dog in 95 on a standard 2-stroke 125cc, going maybe 40kph, so it was not so bad, but down I went for sure (and the farmers must have eaten the dog, which was killed on the spot). I had to pay for it too.
This makes me wonder if what I do on that 20+ mile stretch of flat, straight unpopulated road through the Green Swamp is really the smart thing to do. There are most likely lots of critters that go from one side to the other.
Ah the memories ,I had the misfortune of having a dog come out between parked cars and T bonein it,the front wheel went tru him but the rest crumpled under the rear catapulting me like superman over the bars on to the pavement at 50+ mph,,I now ware full leathers.
