They only need 130 hp so a mildly tuned street triple 765 should do it . HEADLINE READS TRIUMPH ENGINED BIKE WINS GP , first british engined bike to win a GP since Norton in 1969 .
One of the articles I read stated that there might be some concern about the forward mounts of the Triumph engine. It reported that the ones on the outgoing Honda engine were closer to the base of the cylinders. The ones on the current Triumph engines are up around the heads, and that might cause the manufacturers some difficulty tuning chassis flex. That maybe something to keep an eye on, if that sort of thing interests you.
I also heard a rumor from a Triumph dealer the new motor is going into a revised Daytona. I hope so.
