Motorcycle Shipping

Anyone have any good experiences with Motorcycle shipping companies. I am look for a relatively inexpensive shipper to ship from NJ to Puerto Rico. Also, what are the cost to ship. I have been looking around the web but most companies have long forms to fill out just to get a quote and i don't have the patience to fill out the form for every single company.

Thanks.

....... sorry - we're not ignoring you but seems not much experience out there with this one.
My only experience is shipping bikes between Australia and NZ and there is more than 1 company that specialise in this because of the number of bikes making the trip for riding holidays.
But NJ to Puerto Rico? - you might have to fill in some forms

Are you relocating to PR or planning to be there for an extended time at least? Or are you just heading for a shorter stay? I ask because slow-boat is usually much cheaper than rail/ship or air but it could take a couple of weeks to get there depending on the port calls and routes.

Given the high costs of shipping or renting a bike, has anyone ever worked out a buy-back deal with a dealer? Something where you buy a bike, put it on your insurance, ride it for a couple of weeks and then sell it back at a modest loss. It probably means taking a vacation day to pick out a used bike and register it at the DMV, but it should work.

I bought my Sprint ST from a reseller in New Hampshire, they crated it up and sent it to me here in Buffalo NY via Forward Air - It seemed kinda pricey, and they gave me a hard time about the crate when it arrived--I wanted to un-crate it and just ride it home, they wanted me to take the crate or charge me $50 to dispose of it, so I wound up having a friend come along and take the empty crate away in his pickup. :P
