If only...

...Norton would get their **** together.
I want to make a new Triton.

If I had the money I'd buy the **** company and run it myself.
I'm still bitter these bikes were never made.

Pics of that thing have been floating around forever. I'm not sure anymore that the prototype was ever real. However, I do know that It'll be a long wait and I for one don't have that much time.

Well, the website is still up so that's somewhat encouraging. I haven't seen any updates to it recently and some of the links a broken

From what I understand they ran out of cash. I hope they pull it together soon. If that bike ever hit the market I would find a way to make it happen.

Talking to some vintage Norton owners at the DC Bike show seemed to indicate they did not have much hope. They told me the current "owners" of the Norton rights are kinda sitting dead in the water with the production side and are only using the Norton name to sell merchandising items, much the way Indian is currently doing.

Don't know the truth of the matter as this just came from some Norton owners, but I would think they follow the corporate workings much like we do that of Triumph.

+1 OS on the pic size. I think the optimum size is about 1024x740 - that should give a nice size without having to scrooooooooooooooooooooooooooollllllllllllllllllll lllll horizontally.

That pic is 1280 x 1280. The biggest I could find.

I can't find the site where I read it:
Kenny Dreer is supposedly no longer on the board, possibly not even part of the company. Murdock left too. Operations have been indefinitely suspended until money comes in. Deposits were refunded, and now they sell pocket bikes with Norton stickers slapped on them.

Here's the most recent article I could find.

The pic shows beautifully on my 21" Apple Cinema Display (a cheap-shot Mac plug). It is pure bike porn. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

I'm not an entrepreneur type, but it seems to me that a group of enthusiasts with the financial means could bring the project back to life, but on a less ambitious scale. The product would cost more, but at least it would happen. But what do I know.

Crazier things have been tried. A friend of mine went in with just a handful of other investors and tried to buy a major (but failing) regional airline. All he had was a letter of credit (backed by not much more than the equity in his house) and the balls to try to make it happen. The bid was rejected, and the airline ultimately went belly-up. Some might consider this reckless stupidity, but who knows what would have happened if board had allowed the takeover?
