Exclamation NJ/PA/NY Riders - Hawk's Nest Warning

Since the weather is going to be warm this week and a bunch of us might wind up making a swing by the usual haunts, I just thought I would give a quick shout about the Hawk's Nest.

Managed to get out for 4 hours today, but there were a lot of small rock slides in the road along the entire length of the Hawk's Nest. Including one rock that looked about the size of a large brick. Not something you want to run over so keep an eye out if you are up there.

Other than that roads are good: Northern NJ roads generelly clear and dry, PA roads north of Harrisburg a bit wetter. Gravel & salt patches always a random threat everywhere.

Enjoy the warm week of riding!

Thanks for the heads up Red. In NY you can add multiple potholes, many sharp and deep. PITA!

Thanks definitely something I wanted to know. I would hate cruising along and getting laid out from rocks and debri.

This was from last summer going there.

So do southeastern Pennsylvania roads still resemble the surface of the moon?

Where is this "Hawks Nest" located? Looks pretty cool from the pic that Lee posted. I live in eastern Pennsylvania BTW.

We could definately use a good rain to wash some of the crap off the roads. With a chance of snow showers on Friday, we may get another coat of gravel and salt on the roads again.

I miss that Kingpin. Oh wait, I got a new one!

Hawk's Nest is on Route 97 in NY, just west of Port Jervis along the Delaware. A nice area to ride and something of a mecca for riders in the warmer weather.

Thanks for the heads up Big Red. Good to see you.

Actually I was referring to the SUV-swallowing craters all over the streets there.

You're welcome, Kevin/JohnB/Lee. Glad to be a "team spirit" kind of guy!

Crap weather today and tomorrow (Wed.) might be just as bad... what a waste of some warm-ish weather.

Well, at least the rain gave me the time this afternoon to clean the salt off my bike from yesterday's ride.

Shall I post the usual Hawk's Nest picture taken of a few of us two years ago?
