Sunday Ride

OK-we all went -LoVel , HiVel,Jr. and me, HiVel. Had a great day-beautiful weather, but it was not an uneventful 150 mile blast. We had the Sprint , the Speedy and the new Tiger.
Triple triples on a raid!! First thing is I had left some 2 stroke mix in one of my gas cans and that got into the Speedy mixed with a fill up of 93 octane BP,so it was not really a problem-I thought it might be. Then we were held up for about 2 hours waiting for some sandwiches at a popular (Harley) biker hang out. I guess we were not in the in crowd.
We must have passed abround 623 hogs doing their top speed of 43 mph over the curvy mountain roads we were riding. Do they have governors on them? Maybe it is the beer.
Had a great ride until almost home and my Sprint son was leading and passed a slow car coming into a squeeze down 3 into 2 lane with Speedy Jr. following closely. Hitting the throttle hard while in the center (yellow) lane marbles, Lo's rear Dunlop spit up a big goonie into the left headlight of Jr.'s Speedy and totally smashed it! Wow. 8 inches lower and it would have tested my radiator screen. Guess the headlight is the lesser of the evils--wonder how much they are? Oh, we need tires on the Speedy too. Great ride and worth every penny for the fellowship and fun with my 2 sons and the pleasure of riding likethe wind on our wonderful Brit Triples.

I am still wanting to make it to b'ham to ride with y'all.
Don't have any idea when the time will find me.

I put about 600 miles under my girl over the weekend, but only about 200 were slowed by harleys.

You're right, HiVel, the Harley herd was out in force in the eastern part of the state, even on some of my favorite back roads. While the largest group was only about 10 bikes, there were many, many groups. Fortunately, I didn't get held up too badly, because the Harley folks were all turning into restaurants or going slow enough on straight-aways to make for easy passing (and I loved it). It was a beautiful day for riding.

HiVel,
I must have missed the post where you bought your new Tiger! So how do you like it? I have a feeling you keep right up with those other two triples (and in comfort).
Enjoy!

Your story lets us all know that mishaps can occur at any time and to be prepared and alert.

In my opinion that kinda quality time is right up there with a family outing to the shooting range with the whole arsenal!

All alike? On this forum? Are you serious?

Ride west; the scenery at my outdoor range is fantastic.
