Is this really you?

As in any forum, members are always ready to share opinions, videos, pictures, stories and the sort with the world.........me included. But are you the same person when outside, away from the PC and face to face? Are you more demure? Louder? A loner? Got to be the center of attention?

I'd like to think I am what you see....err....read. Opinionated, respectful, fun and vocal.

How about you? What are you really like?

(I just realized that if you are generally shy but loud when behind the PC, my asking this question will have done no good because it won't be the real YOU!)

Oh well. Lets see where this goes.

Me...I'm having a nice mid-life crisis.

Found this on the web...kinda sums it up!

When I was married 25 years, I took a look at my wife one day and said,
"Honey, 25 years ago we had a cheap apartment, a cheap bike, slept on a sofa bed and watched a 10-inch black and white TV, but I got to sleep every night with a hot 25-year-old blonde.
"Now we have a nice house, nice triumph, big bed and plasma screen TV, but I'm sleeping with a 50-year-old woman. It seems to me that you are not holding up your side of things."
My wife is a very reasonable woman.
She told me to go out and find a hot 25-year-old blonde, and she would make sure that I would once again be living in a cheap apartment, driving a cheap vespa, sleeping on a sofa bed and watching a 10-inch black and white TV."
Aren't older women great? They really know how to solve your mid life crisis.

Good subject. I think my online persona reflects me pretty well. I tend to be up and down in my mood depending on the level of stress I'm going through. I'm hardly ever crabby. Instead I turn it inward and get into a funk.

As for how this translates to the forum, I'm pretty much the same guy, so when you don't hear from me for awhile, I'm probably too harried and burnt out to participate. When I do, I try to be positive and polite, as I am in my day-to-day life with anyone and everyone.

Some of my posts are confessions and replays of things in my life that are bothering me at the moment, but I try not to do too many of those, because they make me seem extremely unhappy or overly nostalgic, which is not really the case. Nostalgic, yes, but not overly (seems that most older Bonneville owners must be a bit nostalgic.)

According to my students....this, unfortunately, is just like the real me, old, opinionated, arrogant, etc....

I tend to see it as seasoned, well-versed, confident, etc....

Hmmmmm

On-line I'm flip and sarcastic. Off-line I'm focused, less fun, and too busy. Rat Net affords me the opportunity to cut loose and be silly. On-line, I don't know many people well. Off-line, both my work and social life operate in the same sphere. (Small Town Syndrome). On-line gives me the chance to connect with different people from many walks of life in states and countries I'll never visit. Off line, it's the same humdrum ritualistic existence. Reality bites.

I am quiet, reserved, respectful of others.Basically a loner.I am around a lot of people daily. My employees might disagree, they think I am bossy and opinionated.LOL.Online I tend to be a little more outgoing.I love the humor on this site.(hedge)

I think I'm quite similar, on or off the internet.

But I'm not sure if folks who have known me both places would agree.

I never volunteer to help around the forum, and I've never asked a forum member about monthly program financial reports. Other than that, what you read is pretty much what you get. I bet if one of you described me to my friends at work, they'd tell you who 'hidesert' is in a heartbeat.
