Dumb Question

Hiya folks,

I'm already sorry I asked this.

What are TORS (what does it mean T.O.R.S)

I know it has something to do with the exhaust, but I cannot work out
for the life of me what it means.

My only guess is Triumph Off Road System(?)

Welcome to my first dumb question, the first of many...so flamers get ready to give me a hard time

Well done keanhi. Your first guess was right.

They are supposed to be Off Road only (racing) and generally need the TOR ECU map as well.

ask away,, and welcome.

Thanks Mate

Thanks steventhechef.....I'm surprised that I got that correct..Huh.

Nice to have it confirmed.

Once I get to know all the lingo, I may post a thread for newbies like me....

A lot of stuff like - AI, Jugs, Snorkle (plus more) that I'll list out.

Now, In my time, I've snorkled a few jugs....but I guessing it means something different here

Cheers mate.

Jugs, in this forum, refer to cylinders, which is the US slang term for them. However Aussie mechanincs refer to carbies as jugs.
& people with filthy minds will get this thread moderated, if they tell us what they think jugs are.

What, you mean they aren't what I think they are?

Someone pass the brain soap. My mind must be filthy.

I had a Grandfather that got busted for running moonshine during prohibition. I think he put his stuff in jugs.

Isn't there a movie called, "Mother, Jugs and Speed".

Not sure what that's all about.

AI = Air Injection. It's that big ugly rubber hose that's blocking access to your spark plugs. It's an anti-pollutin device, so removing it is illegal in most jurisdictions. But it's essential to ditch it, if you want your motor to breath properly (& rev hard)

The AI basically allows fresh air into the exhaust system to allow unburned gases to be burned again. This in turn creates a lean mixture after the exhaust valves. The lean mixture is "hotter" and will turn the exhaust pipes blue quicker.
