Wish my wife was with me
She absolutely despises my car and everything about it and says I am too young to have a car like this. But my '88 Lincoln is my baby and I just got back from having her inspected (safety and emissions) and I will quote the mechanic:
"I have never seen a 20 year old car perform and run so well. It's a great car."
And as soon as this 5"-10" snow storm blows through, spring will be coming and I'll be able to dote on my other baby. After all, her birthday is coming up! She was born (picked up) on March 13, 1999 and boy do I have a gala event planned for her!

Oops, I thought that I was on a motorcycle site. Oh, right, it's a motorcycle site in winter.

I am headed to NY right now (150 miles) and although nobody believes me and nor will you......... when cruising at 70 mph with cruise control, I hit up to 29 mpg! I average 25 mpg on the highway although, yes, in the city she tends to get kind of thirsty....

I'm guessing your math is a little Lincoln friendly. A V8 pushing a square front end through the wind get 25 to 29 mpg?
I'm assuming it's a V8 and although I have not studied aerodynamics you have to be knocking one heck of a hole in the air.

The web site link says 25 on the highway, which is the average hogwylde gave. And the shape of the downstream portion of a moving body has more of an impact on aerodynamics than the leading portion. The air's going to get out of the way; most drag comes from turbulence as it fills in behind the moving object.
That's a beautiful, classic car hogwylde!
