Folks from England
Old Lady and her two sisters been out on a 5 day boat ride in the Gulf of Mexico---so this morning I take the old pickup 180 miles south down to Galveston to pick them up---they had met a couple on the cruise from England---wife asked me if we could give them a ride to their hotel on the seawall---no problem--always enjoy helping folks out--well the old boy, mid 30`s, had just got back into bikes--had him a Bandit 650--good bikes--my wife had told him that I had been riding for 40 years , had a Harley, and had just got a Bonne---said that he had always wanted a Triumph but had got a real good deal on the Suzy----we had a good talk on the way to hotel---they`re coming back to TEXAS in Nov for a wedding---told him he could use the Bonnie if they had time to come up to East TEXAS---he also said a plain HD883 was between 12,000---13,000 in England---how much are Triumph`s over there?? they have to be cheaper than here--and hey, Ya`ll folks from over there sure talk funny was a nice couple--enjoyed meeting them

Hay Gandy,
Yes Triumphs are a lot cheaper in the US than in the UK for instance a Street in the US is $7900 bit in the UK is £5400. It may also be that some US Triumphs are made in Thailand making them cheaper. But the biggest reason is a drive for market share in the US not only are you getting them cheaper you appear to be getting preferance on delivery on bikes on short supply. eg the Street is in very short supply all around the world, I ordered one in November and have now been told June some 200 days and yet I read in this forum of people who ordered thier bikes at a similar time to me who have their bikes and I have to wait till June

Apparently, we`re not the only ones. It took me 10 mins to work out out what was actually being said here. I have no idea what words like 'Y`all' and phrases like 'had him a' actually mean, I had to google it up. At first I thought it was a joke posting and the real message was the one in morse code, represented by the dashes between each phrase. But translation revealed that the series of 2,3, and 4 dashes just resemble nought zero and M, so the hidden message reads mo0 mo0 mo0?

That would be the Texan variant of the American variant of English.

Old boy mid 30's????? 'kin'ell how old are you if they're old in their mid 30's?
HD883 is around £5300 in the UK. http://www.warrs.com/store/xl883-low...99e1fe0a3033cb Ought to be a lot cheaper with the $-£ at nearly 2:1.
You know, it always amuses me when I hear the Yanks say that they speak English. Ha!

oh yes. A lot cheaper. We are still getting burned in the UK with new bike prices, and HD are among the worst offenders.

Oh lord yonder, now no one is going to know what a piggly wiggly is. It's just a grocery store chain.
rob I must say I'm slightly embarassed that I read right through that and never slowed down. I understood every word.
