Motorcyclist Killed In Georgia
You guys in Georgia better be careful. Seems that riding down the street can now be construed as a Threat.

I hope the shooter gets the book thrown at him. There are a few "VERY QUESTIONABLE" things about the story.

LOT of 'red flags' on this story.
1. Girls say Mororcyclist cut THEM off in the Parking lot - Bike riders are pretty darn paranoid in parking lots. They tend to let the 2-ton vehicle have the right-of-way.
2. Girls say motorcyclist ran into them - see number 1 above
3. Girls say they made obscene gestures at the motorcyclist - Could be the motorcyclist was following them home to report their behavior to parents.
4. Dad was at the end of the drive way brandishing a pistol - Intent to cause harm, or at the least threatening
5. Dad shot the guy 3 times when he passed by the house a second time. Claims 'self-defense' - I believe the girls ran into the motorcyclist in the Target parking lot (hence the "collision Evidence"). The biker was following them home to report the incident to the parents. Girls got scared, made up a story and called Dad. Dad did what Dads do, went to protect his daughters, unfortunately his first thought is to grab his .40 cal semi. Motorcyclist sees Dad in the driveway with a gun and drives past. Motorcyclist ends up turning around (cul-de-sac?? Dead end?? Guy not familiar with area and knows to get out the way he came in? Doesn't matter) and driving by the house again. Somehow, in Dad's mind (could be for any number of reasons) Dad takes this a threat and shoots the dude three times, killing him.
I cannot wait until the actual truth comes out on this. Bte I'm not too far off.

This is appalling - but then so is the idea of letting just anyone own a gun.

I respectfully disagree with your corollary, keef, but I certainly agree this guy has a lot of 'splainin to do. The only way that could be self defense is if the guy had a sidecar with a manned machine gun.

He shot him in the back. You can't kill people who are running away from you. Dad is going to jail.

Having two daughters I can understand the fathers very real concern, but I think I would have assessed the situation at least a little bit and then called police.
However - we have no idea what that cell phone conversation was like from the girls. They very easily could have told their father the guy showed them a pistol.
Tragic

Whatever they said on the phone to daddy was recorded somewhere and can be gotten too. My bet girls on cell phones driving through parking lot bump motorcyclist and drive off. Motorcyclist tries to cut them off and stop them, they shoot him the bird he decides fine, i'll follow you home and talk to parents. Dad gets wild cell call from girls gets pissed thinking some hooligan is hitting on his daughters and is going to do something horrible to them if they stop gets his firearm unfortunately, and shoots motorcyclist. Worse case scenario is almost always assumed by anyone before thinking rationally and unfortunately this guy didn't take the time.

They should hang that stupid bastard. Is it OK to shoot somebody riding down the street-in the back?? NO way. It was murder. maybe the shootee should have just gone on his way-he did not and now he is dead at 21, shot by a redneck with a pistol -what bad luck.
