That deserves a sticky thread. It's the first thing we should refer new forum members too. Well spotted, tbiller!

I agree, essential viewing at the Forum Re-education Camp. I like to think that most forums can be self regulating, but that's somewhat delusional. There are places out there on the internet where only the strongest keyboards will survive. I'd wager that most of the people who come across as bad assess wouldn't dare act like that if they were talking to me face to face.

This is one of the only online forums I belong to. I'd visit other interesting forums if I had the time. But when I do, I appreciate moderated forums - even the loosely moderated forums - because someone will still step in when things get cruel and unusual.

If allowed, I'd use at least half of George Carlin's 7 forbidden words (that's 3.5 for the mathematically challenged dumb-asses That was a joke - man, you people are stupid. That was also a joke. LMFAO. So was that. ), but to me it's a small trade-off for having a the chance to discuss shared interests, banter, and sometimes argue and still come away willing to have a pint with ANY of the other members. This forum fits that description to me.

Required reading indeed though I must say seems like most here who post regularly already follow these guidelines. Even when topics get heated good decorum is generally maintained with a heavy does of sarcasm.

Nice find

Excellent link.!! :

I am going to ask Shawn to make this required reading for all new members.

And maybe a few of the older members too.

Showed this to my wife who is a neophyte poster and she heartily agreed. I think the video would make an excellent indoctrination tool for new and old alike.

That should be standard reading. I'd like to thank the Admins for their hard work as I very rarely see any of that type of thing going on .
