Thank you TriumphRat

Just goes to show that people do sometimes click on the advertising links on web sites I was sitting here one day pondering the insurance on my Trophy. The company i was using wanted around $2,000 per year!! i kid you not!! only 25% NCB. I saw the link at the top of the page for Bike Insurance at www.insuremyride.com.au and went there to look..... GIO wanted $186 PER MONTH!!! to insure my bike for $7,200 "Insure My Ride" insured my bike for $9,600 for $366 per year including the 65% NCB they gave me! That's a huge saving! I'm glad i took the opportunity and clicked on the link

I didn't do it by clicking on a link but out of anger at my current insurance company (home, auto, bike) and when I dropped them to go elsewhere, my yearly premium went from ~$800USD to $329. Needless to say - I am happy like you.

I had a quite for over £1000 for my annual bike insurance WHAAAAAT!

By getting a competitor quote and ringing my insurance to get them to compete I got it down to £600. Best hours work I have done all year

I am currently in the same boat with my car / bike insurance company, for my car / bike together the want almost $1800 a year, i did a price quote from a place on the web and they quote almost half... I'll be making a phone call to my insurance agent on monday and having a chat with them.

The sad part of this is they are also authorized agents from the company i got the internet quote from....

I have everything else here insured through the one insurer. House and contents and cars. They just don't want to insure bikes so they price it so high you will go elsewhere. I pretty much got the girl at the counter when i cancelled the bike policy last week to admit it. The wife's car is insured for $35,000 and we only pay $50 per month for it. Same as registration...... although we can't pick and choose there! When i registered my 750 Kawasaki, it cost me $40 MORE to register than the car.... the bike weighed 233kg, the car 1,600..... tell me where the fairness is there! The trumpy will cost me more because it's 277kg and it's over 1,000cc Sometimes it's tough to be a rider!

When I got my first GSX-R1000 at age 19, Geico quoted me at $1800 PER MONTH. That's $21,600 per year, which is enough to buy several new bikes. Now I use State Farm for everything and my 06 Sprint 1050 is 30 bucks per month full coverage.

As somebody said earlier, I think they just didn't want to insure it, so they way over-quoted on purpose. Needless to say, I didn't jump at their offer. According to the agent, 19-year old males on 1000cc sportbikes are just statistics waiting to happen. There's probably some truth to that. Luckily I survived long enough to grow up and mature some, and have moved on past the race replica phase.

I was going to insure my new Street 3 with the same mob I've got the Scram with (Swan). But I'll give that link a go, & see how they compare.

As for the usefulness of this site, I'm still trying to figure out whether it's saved me thousands, from all the cheap mods I've sourced, or cost me thousands, by making me aware of the mods in the first place.

Whatever!
I'm having a ton of fun.
& I definitely have this site to thank for that.

So thank you TriumphRat.Net
May the ride never end.
