Girl Scout cookies
So, was anyone else wandering their neighborhood in the dark last night, escorting a budding young salesgirl?
My daughter really amazed me; she remembered which houses usually buy well, and even a house where everyone is allergic to nuts!

We had our drive in October. Sounds like you have a future business woman on your hands with that memory.
My kids often amaze me with their memory. My youngest is like a human GPS. She remembers turns and roads she hasn't been on for several years and can even tell me how far away I am from a turn. Pretty impressive since I often can't even remember what I had for breakfast

hidesert, I admire you for teaching your daughter the right way to sell. When I was in school, we had similar types of sales to raise money for different field trips and such. There was always a prize given to the kid who sold the most. What made me upset was the fact that the kid who always won was the kid whose parents took the order sheet to work and did all the selling for them. My father taught me a lesson by making me go out and sell the things by myself. It angered me then, but today it has made me a pretty good salesman. Even as I write this, there is an order sheet for Girl Scout cookies hanging in our break room. I don't even know who's daughter is selling them! It still frosts my behind. I will not buy from this person. I'll wait until a scout comes knocking at my door. Then I'll buy more cookies than I can eat in a year!

hidesert,
I love hearing this. Savor the moments as they are fleeting. I miss those moments when my daughter was small. Even though my back cursed me for days, I loved teaching her to ride her bicycle. Tons of things I miss.
You're a good dad for being there with her.

Girl Scout Cookies
+1 on teaching our kids to be responsible Vs doing the work for them. I wish many more parents would begin to think this way.
It's been years since my 2 girls were scouts, but every year around this time I get a sudden uncontrollable craving for those chocolate mint cookies. Gotta have 'em!

My wife and I work at the same place - different shifts. We have two older sons, so we always helped friend's aspiring young business women. Many of our co-workers have daughters selling cookies and they post the order forms in company kitchens where hungry employees gather - clever. Every year my wife writes in her selection, but she knows I will "revise" the number of boxes when I see it. Yum.

I'll take:
6 boxes of Thin Mints
2 boxes of Lemonades
2 boxes of Lemon Chalet Cremes
Oh wait this was about your daughter lol sorry when I hear GS cookies I just automaticlly start placing my order!
Anyone else put their Thin Mints in the freezer? They are soooo much better when they're ice cold!

Girl Scout Cookies
Thin Mints in the Freezer - I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that is a U.S. Federal Law.

This is new to me. In the five years I have lived in the US, I have yet to have any Girl Scouts knock on my door selling cookies. Have seen sheets pinned up in places - including at the Triumph dealer last week - but I don't feel compelled. I'm a sucker for cute kids and admire the smart ones, so would definately spring if they knocked on my door.
Hope your daughter does well, hidesert
