Dave Pearson, a neighbor and friend of mine, is currently ranked #1 in desert racing. He is a KTM Team rider. Everything he does in life centers around racing. He makes excellent money from KTM and his sponsors, so he only races. In addition, his bikes - both race and recreational - are free, as are his support vehicles.
Some years back, not that many considering how old I am, I was moderately competitive in local events on a quad, winning a handful of hare and hound events. Before the races, Dave and I would practice side-by-side until he got bored and left me to eat his dust.
Two days ago, he dropped in at the house and asked "Hey, I have a new KTM Super Enduro R that I don't have time to ride because the season just started. Would you break it in for me?" I was hesitant at first, not wanting to be taken advantage of because of our friendship. But, eventually I agreed, being the good neighbor that I am. Neighbor helping neighbor, don't you know.
My point? Sometimes the stars align, the heavens open, and God smiles down on his children.
Holy crap, Catenaccio! Your freakin neighbor is freakin Dave Pearson! Dude, how about an autograph for my kids and MEEEEE! We are an MX family and we love any offroad motorcycling. Hook me up!
Sure. Happy to help. PM me you and your kids names and any dedication you want and give me a couple of weeks. (I'm traveling out of state for work for the next 10 days.)
