The Shelf Life of Forgetfulness

I just remembered that I'd purchased a bottle of Cockburn's 10-year-old Tawny Port that has been in my truck for nearly 2 weeks. Temps have dipped below freezing each night.

Opinions please. Drink it now? No harm done?

I'm afraid it's totally ruined, big mistake, post it to me and I'll dispose of it so that it doesn't affect the environment.

Port & Winter are perfect partners.
If there's one thing that can test my non-drinking resolve, it's a good Port & a cold night.
I worked for an old winery in Sth Oz, which discovered a case of Port that had been buried in their cellars since 1895.
& when one of our Reisling's won a gold medal that year, management decided to open a couple of bottles for the end of vintage party.
It was like liquid velvet.
I definitely couldn't say no to another glass of that (sorry Liver)

Nevermind when to drink or not to drink! What a fascinating line! "The Shelf Life of Forgetfulness". Man, you could go down so many paths with a line like that. Do you mind of I borrow it tonight? It may lead to a great conversation. If anything, it'll cause people to pause for thought.

I'll let you know how I make out.

PS And I'll give credit where credit is due by mentioning you and this forum.

Well okay, but if you use it for the title of a book, I claim a pittance of royalties.

Gohm, I thought of that after I posted. I should save such titles for deeper ponderings. I'll probably pour my heart out in some future post and title it "Wazzup!" for lack of a better idea.

Actually, I'm thinking that Whisper is going to run with it with his friends tonight.

Hi Mellow.

Even tho it's Cockburns and only 10-yr-old, in this professional's opinion, it'll be just fine... Let us know!

Unbearably light in being,
Mare
