Anti-Heroes

I know we've all got our heroes & role models. People we look up to, & have helped mold us into the people we are.
But who are your anti-heroes?
Which bada$$ rebel first inspsired you to question authority & throw a leg over a Trumpy?
& if you had a choice, who's decadent life would you like to emulate?

For me, it's the quintissential Aussie, Errol Flynn.
He wrote the book on being bad. & he did it with a style & flair that's never been bettered.
He was more of a professional adventurer than a movie star, which he only did to fund his lifestyle.
That he drank himself to death by his mid-fifties, & died in the arms of his teenage lover, only adds to his mystique IMO.
In the words of one of my favourite Australian Crawl songs
"Oh Errol.
I would give everything
Just to be like him."

So who's your anti-hero?

What a fun question. For my generation there was James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause to get us to question. Then came Steve McQueen. Marlon Brando in The Wild Ones was over the top for me. But the one that had that "Wanderlust" stirred up for me was a TV show that has faded from most peoples memories, "Adventures in Paradise" starring Gardner McKay. I'm sure I'll think of more as the day goes on.
It'll be interesting to hear who affected others.

PS And of course Inspector Clouseau!

as a Australian the ultimate anti hero has got to be Ned Kelly
as a ex soldier it is David Stirling (founder British SAS)

Sorry guys, I'm just a regular middle-aged guy whose wife let him buy a bike to get him out of the house every once in a while. But if I could be bad (and that's a big if) I'd want to bad like Marv or Dwight in Sin City.

Whisperin-+1 on all three. Incidentally, Gardner McKay played Capt. Adam Troy who sailed the Tiki.

Oddly enough it was my dad.

He was a biker in his younger days, but told me that I couldnt have a bike.
So when I did get one, I had trouble trying to keep him off it.
