Rain-Off

I was wondering if any of you used something to help keep the rain off your visor. I end up riding in the rain after dark on a regular basis and hate it. I was hoping to find a tried and true product to help the rain slick off.

Thanks,

Rain-X works pretty well although I don't know it would react to plastic.

This Nikwax Visor Proof works excellent, it's made for visors so you can't damage clarity over extended use. I use it with great results.
Google it for the best merchant near you...Nikwax seems to be a UK company.

I'm with Wombat. But now I just got a new pair of gloves with the wiper on the thumb. Can you teach an old dog new tricks? I'll let you know.

They are indeed and based in Wadhurst, about 30 miles from me. They do everything to do with keeping water off anything. http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/activity...ty=MOTORBIKING

I've used the premix in the washer tank in my car for quite a few years now and love it in the rain.
Been cleaning my helmet visor with it but haven't had a rain ride yet.
Kind of leery about using the concentrated stuff on it, is that what you've used?

I've tried everything and now I just sponge the visor inside and out with water and a bit of dish-washing liquid on it then dry it off with a paper towel. Then when it rains like Wombat I just wipe my left gloved index finger across the visor for light rain. The index finger of the glove has a chamois insert the length of the finger.

For heavy rain I find it's better at 100km (on highways) than slowing down, the wind keeps the visor clear. Moving your head from side to side now and again also clears the visor of rain drops.

---------------
Ride on !
