The World Will Soon Know The Truth!

In just a few short hours the New England Patriots will take the field against the New York Giants in their quest to become the second team in NFL history to finish the regular season undefeated. The game was scheduled to be aired only on the NFL Network which is not widely available, but the NFL made a last-minute decision to allow the game to be simulcast on both NBC and CBS, so now everyone can see the big event (or not).

And now the truth will come out, inescapable and undeniable, that Bryant Gumbel is the worst play-by-play man on the face of the planet. What he lacks in insightful analysis he makes up for by being boring and, in many cases, just plain wrong. So now what those of us who receive the NFL Network have know for a long time will now be common knowledge to all: Bryant Gumbel doesn't know bo diddley about football!

Translation: In this game of brinkmanship, somebody crumbled at the eleventh hour... either the networks met the NFL price, or the NFL accepted the network offer.

I never understood American football... the ball's an awfully funny shape, and they use their hands... go figure

The NFL Network must have gotten confused as to which Gumbel brother they were hiring. Bryant sounds like he has never watched a game in his life and its not even his first season.

Arrow Bryant Gumbel is as Dumb as a Box of Rocks!

I hate Bryant Gumbel as much as I hate the Patriots, the Red Sox, the Celtics and any other Boston Team! There is one Boston exception and one only - my childhood hero Bobby Orr!

Da Bronx Bombers Baby! and the NY Football Giants minus that idiot "Awe Shucks" Manning! Nothing would make me happier if we could just get rid of him; I would be as happy as when we finally got rid of that POS Proctor!

I think it also must have had something to do with the NFL being seen as a spoiler, allowing so little an audience to see one of their biggest events. They would have had a great big shining black eye and absolutely nothing to show for it. The NFL had to do it.

Well, but at least you've got a mute button on your remote. Long were the days when Howard Cosell rambled on and on and on while some history making play was in progress.
