R.I.P. Evel Knievel

My childhood hero!:cry http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...x.html?cnn=yes

I remember going to see him jump at the Portland Memorial Coliseum in the first grade. I wrote a story about him and drew a picture. My dad surprised me by taking me to get his autograph.

Don't mean to be disrespectful, but I thought he died years ago.
I was a big fan, back in the day though. He could really make a big bike fly. Mind you that American Eagle of his was really a re-badged Laverda 750SFC. So it's no surprise it flew so well. I've ridden a friends SFC, & it's the best parrallel twin I've ever ridden (sorry guys). But the balance. the handling, the power, & especially the note. It's never been surpassed in the 33yrs since it first roared in anger. If they still made them. I'd have one.
Anyway, vale Evil Knievel. A man amongst men. R.I.P.

Yah, he was the man. He talked it, then would do it. I recently watched a special on him, and was sad to hear he had problems with his son. Hope they had their chance to make peace. RIP.
