Humble reminder

I ride to work everyday here in the Greater Seattle Area. Every morning I ride my bike in the usual route to work. I get to work this morning and see the following news story:

http://www.komotv.com/news/11859981.html

The spot where this happened is on my usual route, and this happened about 10 minutes after I passed that intersection. This is just a humble reminder to keep safe out there.

RIP rider and his family

I absolutely hate hearing stories like that, but at the same time they have to be told. Poor guy.

Curiously, the bike doesn't look that banged up, which makes one wonder how it happened. I shouldn't wonder, but I do.

Still not sure what happened. My friend here at work (who rides a Harley) rode by the scene after it happened. He said the bike looked fine (as the pic shows) and the rider was in full gear and full face lid.

A real shame. And you are right Wazzukirk, about this sort of thing being a humble reminder,

A humbling reminder.

As for the curiosity, with no other info there are two gross/general questions first: did the crash kill him, or did he have something go wrong (heart attack, stroke, aneurysm, seizure) that caused the accident?

Either way, I feel bad for his family and friends.

Stay safe out there, folks. Make sure your last word on the way out the door is a kind one...

From what I have gathered from my fellow riders here at work, they heard that he was speeding through a red light when he hit the truck.

If I was driving the truck that is what i would be telling everybody. Who's going to contradict your story.

I'd rather die on the street than live on the couch, but either way I want my loved ones to know that's what they are.
