Amazing racing

Well the Malaysian MotoGP was a blast, Sepang circuit is awesome and I really wanted to get my bike out there for a blat myself..

When the photos are down loaded Ill post some here..

After the GP the local racers came out for a blast..
remembering this is Asia.. we were wondering what the local bikes would be

It turns out they run the GIVI cup a 130cc Scooter race.. man it was a scream to watch.

6 laps of sheer mayhem.. they went into corners like a bag of marbles all bouncing off each other.. some in the kitty litter, some on the ripple strip some on the grass but all managed to stay upright... its was so much fun to watch.. they even have rear sets on these things and hang of them as they corner...

Not to mention the GP the 125s and 250s were all spectacular races to watch, but I am sure glad I stayed to watch the local guys have a crack at racing..

They also had the national malaysian superbike championship which was won by an australian too.. oh I cant remember his name now. (Brett I think).

Not a huge crowd overall.. the Aussies of course could be heard .. especially at the podium cheering for Casey Stoner.

Of course Im still a huge Rossi fan and had he had another 2 laps he would have been on the podium for sure..

T-shirts were so cheap so was entry etc...so from an Australians point of view alot cheaper to attend than Phillip Island.. however there is better atmosphere at the island and bigger crowds too.. but really cold down there.. lol

On the main race they let all the locals in to fill the main grandstand so it doesnt look so bare on the TV.. thats how poorly it is attended!!

One I would recommend for a different race perspective and entertainment in general..
as I said ill post some pics once I download em
cheers
Jen

Oh yes went to Indonesia.. over there you can buy motocycle sandels.. they have an extra piece of leather of the top of the foot so you can change gears... they think of everything..lol

Thanks for a really interesting post. Any pics of the squid sandals? They sound just the ticket for those of us who ride in hot southern climes .

Great story Jen, sounds like you had a great time. Only problem for me is I hate flying and you can't ride to malaysia from here :-).

Maybe we'll see you at the island next year? Supers are better atmosphere than the GP, but the GP *is* the premier version of the sport and it shows in the times etc.
