Farewell Phantom...
...hello Vegas.
Tonight I traded in my first motorcycle, the 2005 Speedmaster that taught me how to ride. It was a great bike and an excellent teacher. The Speedy gave me 15,000 reliable and fun miles in the last 23 months. But after getting the Kingpin in June, I got hooked on Victory power, handling and styling. The Speedy was a great bike to me, but the deal I got was too good to pass up.
I'd also like to thank everyone here that helped get me started with Triumph. I joined this forum shortly after re-discovering Triumph in 2005. The MSF and Speedy followed shortly thereafter. Everyone here, especially the vertical twins guys, was very patient and helpful in getting me to learn the ins & outs of motorcycling in general and Triumph bikes in particular. Another big plus was getting to meet some of you in person at RAT and other motorcycle events.
The Triumph experience was an excellent one all around. I'll stick my head in often to throw in my 2 cents, and for 1500 updates. All the best to everyone here.
Ride safe & Slan Abhaile.

Stick with us Silver, we don't care what ride you ride, if you like it, it's good enough for us. Once a Triumph rider, always a Triumph rider.

Kevin,
Take no notice of Tbirdnz.
BUGGER OFF YOU TRAITOR!
Seriously though, enjoy whatever you ride and may it be a safe ride.
The wind in your hair is the same on every bike, that is if you have hair.

Kev,
Keep in touch. Life goes on and we all must choose for ourselves, Victories are great cruiser bikes. You didn't get that futuristic/retro thing did you? We still got to meet for breakfast.
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat!

Good trade...
I'm devoted to my Bonnie, but if I were buying a cruiser I am 100% sure it would be a Victory. Them be some sweet bikes!
Good luck and stay safe!

Are they really sweet bikes?
I always heard and read they were just the normal Polaris garbage, problem prone etc., like all the rest of their products. Maybe they've changed, they make some nice looking bikes.
Sat on one at the dealers and it felt good.

Kevin,
Wow, like losing a family member. But I'm glad you're still riding! Hey, I think there is ONE slot open in the Bennington Triumph Gathering for a non-Triumph bike. It's yours! Check out the "here's a thought" post. Come join us. Joan would love it there too.
On a personal note, it's been great to get to know you and finally meet you. Gettysburg's Rat Raid will mean more to me now.
As always, ride safe,
John
