What the heck is in the New Zealand water?

After having read the thread on John Britten - who's work is incredible by the way, I pulled The World's Fastest Indian out of the video stack and rewatched it. - highly recommended pseudo-documentary of Burt Munro. What's the deal with Kiwi's? They build unbelievable motorcycles in their sheds!! What is it the Marmite\Veggimite down there or what? I think the country must be home to the greatest backyard engineers in the world - bar none. God bless you Kiwi's! The world wouldn't be nearly as impressive without you.

Well, when you're outnumbered by the sheep, you've got to be creative.......

And don't forget this guy:

Linky

It's pretty well established that Pearse beat the Wright brothers. Of course, he didn't follow through so guess who got the credit?

Well we feel a little sheepish about this praising topic but to tell you the truth it's the sheep with the brains, you've all heard of sheep brains ? I thought so, we're just smart and just take the credit !

I suppose it's because the sheep were so isolated in this remote part of the world that anything they needed they had to invent, besides, importing cost and arm and a leg and took forever. Necessity is the mother of invention, one of our rams said that.

Ride on !

Watch out for the sheep, they may turn nasty.

I'd say the father of nuclear physics trumps them all. Actually, I can't say that for sure; I'm not sure if he was a card player too.

Ok ok ok

I am sitting on my Auzzie passport tonight after reading this!

Tankman always calls me a crazy kiwi anyway!

Very nice thread me thinks.

Not bad for a little place down the bottom of the world eh?
