What should they wear?

I know we tend to make a little fun of the so called "Gay Pirate" look the Harley riders are into but if not that, what should they wear?

I was driving home yesterday and passed 2 consecutive HD riders in jeans, t-shirts and sneakers. The first thought that came to my mind, after the second one went by was, that sure does look stupid. Where is the black leather? Maybe I have been brainwashed by the giant HD marketing machine.

IMO they should wear either a black leather vest and jeans or all the black leather stuff. Plenty of chains is good also. Both of these items go with the smallest most unsafe helmet they can find.

They should continue to dress like gay pirates so I will have someone to make fun of.

Most of the guys I ride with have Harleys and they make fun of the gay pirate look also, even though some of them occasionally venture into that territory. Personally, I like to dress like a punk rawker when I ride.

Black leather jackets aren't the garb of gay pirates, but leather vests and @$$less chaps are (why wear protection everywhere but your @$$ ?). A doo-rag and pointy boots complete the pirate look.

My apologies to all the gay pirates who take offense.

bonniegirl. Does he wear sneakers or boots because that is what really set them off for me the other day. They were both wearing white tennis shoes.

I was in VT this weekend, stopped at a place for lunch where we saw a half dozen Hells Angels at the bar.

They were appropriately tatoo'd, wearing ragged t-shirts, vests and bandanas. They looked real tough drinking Miller Lites too.

Well God forbid if I ever rode a Harley I'd wear a Black leather jacket, gloves, open face lid + jeans or leather jeans in winter.

Simple isn't it? I don't realy get this thread so I'm out of here.

Around here they shave and polish their heads... I guess they think a shiny skull works the same as a helmet.

There is nothing wrong with a shiny head!
