I broke my wrist and am in a cast on my right wrist. My throttle hand. And it's primo riding weather right now, what with el nino and all. Can't ride, play guitar or go shooting.
Majorly sucks.
But, they thought it was a torn ligament initially and were going to operate. So it's good they don't have to do that.
Still, six weeks. And it's going to be in the 60s next week. That's my ideal riding temp.
If your good and eat your vitamins you might reduce that by a week or two. Ask your doc about buying a portable TEMS electrotherapy machine . You can get decent one for around $40 on Amazon. It could help stave off muscle atrophy.
+1 on the TEMS machine. Had a wrist injury that had my left hand immobilized for four months, doctors said electrotherapy was what stopped the other muscles in my forearm from atrophying.
Hey, at least it didn't happen in proper Spring or Summer
I just broke my foot a week ago and am in the same situation. No riding for a month or so. My surgeon put a couple of pins in, so I'm not allowed any weight bearing at all. I can't even walk around. So boring.
