which helmet?

If you were going to hit a tree straight on while ridling a Speedmaster at 95 MPH, which helmet would you recommend?

Thumbs up

The Husqvarna 3120X mounted Arai is the one you are looking for. Problem is you have to keep it idling while riding but it's easy enough to reach up and hit the throttle right before you hit it. Plays heII on your vision though, having a chainsaw idling on the top of your head and all.

Doesn't work on redwoods though.......

I was thinking the same thing. Probably wouldn't matter but if the question is about the best helmet I don't hink there is any one answer for that either.

I like my $500 SHOEI more than my $200 HJC but that has to do with fit and the way it feels on my head. The HJC is also a flip up and allows more wind noise and is not as snug.

I would suggest getting the helmet that fits you the best.

TomKrill of course is from the 'No Helmet Brigade', well a helmet might save the tree from being splattered with grey goo !

Ride on !

Hit a tree head on at 95mph? Jees a helmet wouldn't save anything you'd have to have no brains anyhow to do that.

I wouldn't recommend a helmet. Rather a pair of good boots so you could kick it out of the way.

As to the helmet, I agree that what's inside it would never direct me to hit a tree with my Speedmaster. However, if that's what floats your boat, please be careful to leave the helmet specifications prior to the crash. It may be good for research.

Arch, I love the Japanese maple bonsai. Do you have others? I am currently restricting myself to Golden Gate ficus.
