Newbie Safety vs. Inspection on time

Just finished the MSF course 2 1/2 weeks ago and my 2 weeks to inspect the bike expired a few days ago. The closest inspection station is about 10 miles away on a busy road, and I want more practice on local streets before venturing out there. Anyone know if there is a way to get an extension from DMV on when the bike needs to be inspected? (or any other ideas?)

I assume this is a safety type inspection for the bike and not a ride test.??

congrats on passing the MSF course and the new bike.
I don't know nothen about no New Jersey but I do know that you passed the course and had 2 weeks to practice.

ride to the test area during non peak hours when traffic is at its lightest.. Take your time and RELAX. If you want to stop because your in a knot of cagers then just pull over and wait for a break in traffic.
The inspection will probably be over by noon and you can get something to eat and bask in the glory. Then perhaps a nice afternoon ride. Great excuse to miss work.

Your nervous. Fair enough.
Time to fly little birdy
You CAN do it.

sorry I have no concrete help for you other than a positive outlook and a can do attitude.

Thanks for the encouragement -- It is just a motor vehicle inspection of the bike which actually still has a valid NY inspection sticker, so the bike is fine and just needs NJ credentials. I'll probably get an appt. for an early Saturday morning inspection when there isn't too much traffic -- and pulling over to the side sounds doable if necessary (I did it this morning on some more local streets and it worked out fine).

You could have a trustworthy riding friend take the bike while you take a car to the inspection site.
