Good news not so good news

Well i have not been here on the site for some time as i have had a lot do do this last month....
I said yes to my wife at our wedding on the 20 of July...we then moved house on the 23 and my old man passed away on the 29.....I was able to take my sisters and uncle to see him in hospital the day after as he could not come to our wedding. He was very pleased to see them all and we made a small video.. Then we had him cremated on the 31...
Then on the second of August we went to England to see my family and to make plans for when i can bring back his ashes to england...As he was in the fleet air arm in ww2 i will be scattering his ashes at sea down in north Devon were we lived until i was 13.

Just to let you all what a good man he was here is a short story:
my sisters our my step sisters. There dad passed away..Our mum told her that she could not put up the photo of her dad on her wall in her room...my dad walked by her room ans saw she was crying,he asked why and she told him he went down stairs and got a hammer and a nail and said to her were do you want the photo put up love...and then sat down and told her that he could not take the place of her farther but would do his best to help her in life and that she could count on him....later on in her life she changed her family name to my farther's and my others sister called him dad...That was the man he was...

Rest assured your dad knew how much he meant to you and you to him. It comes through crystal clear in your words. You may not believe it now, but the passage of time will ease your pain. It will never go away, but it will be eased.

Seems odd to add this, but congratulations on your marriage.

WOW, the highs & lows in such a short time period. Is'nt life a strange & yet wonderful journey? I don't think I've ever wished someone congratulations & condolences in the same posting before. Your Dad sounded like the kind of man most of us aspire to be. I hope you can have your entire family there with you when you scatter his ashes. I had that responsibilty myself a while back, and unfortunately my brothers chose not to be there. I feel like it was an honor to do it, yet it was also one the toughest things I've ever had to do. Theres no bitter feelings, but I was the only one to know what it felt like to take care of his final wishes. Heres hoping your family gets to share it.

Sorry for your loss crambuster.

Life gives us the bad to more appreciate the good. A ****ty way to make you appreciate things though, in my books..
