Torque Magazine????????

In the last issue of Torque magazine they said that the mag. was now defunct and that it was to be replaced by a mag. called "Triumph" to all those who registered at R.A.T. Has anybody got a copy of the new mag. yet?

They`re selling off all the back issues of the mag, at a bargain price. You could say that "Torque is cheap!"

Bwahahaha!

I`ve done this one before, haven`t I

Thumbs down Triumph Magazine, just got even worse!

Actually, it`s just arrived in the mail. If you were disappointed with 'Torque' wait till you get a load of this Turkey! Now I am hugely enthusiastic about all things Triumph, I run the local RAT pack, moderate on 2 Triumph forums, own a Speed Triple and a 675 and have just returned, this weekend from the world`s biggest Triumph Rally at Port Macquarie , so it`s safe to say that I have a fairly positive viewpoint about all things Triumph but I have to tell you, the new mag is a STINKER! Think glossy advertising brochure and airline magazine all rolled into one. It`s laughably lightweight and big on pictures but low on content. It`s like one of those nasty things inserted between the pages of proper bike magazines, that falls on the floor when you open them up.
It`s also laughably inaccurate, the article about Speed Triple Accessories boldly states "No-one knows more about tricking out the Triple than Triumph`s accessories supervisor Adam Foley." I beg to differ. The photo then shows Adam taking off the airbox to gain access to the indicator wiring. Adam should have checked out the info on the Speed Triple forum and saved himself a couple of hours of unnecessary work!

A second Opinion:
My wife is a very high profile marketing and communications manager (who also rides a Triumph) who has a lot of expertise in this area. I asked for her opinion on the mag and she thought it was the sort of thing that may appeal to non triumph owners, maybe something that visitors could pick up off the counter at the local Triumph dealer, but it had little or nothing to offer to existing Triumph owners.

Worst of all, no mention of RAT. Shame.

I cut n pasted this in an email which I sent to RAT HQ and the contact e-mail in the front page of the mag.

Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
I filled in the page at the back, please dont send me this drivel again, it was painful to see that what originally was quite a good read has been turned into a cheesey sales brochure for a lifestyle along the HD lines, If ANYONE has any influence with the producers of this "he wears she wears sales brochure", Please tellt hem to stop, we are Triumph owners not part time bike poser's.

Yep, it' officially utter tripe. Love the piccie of the trollop on the back of the street triple wearing flimsy posing designer trousers. lets hope they didn't have a spill (or let's hope they did). Hopefully they'll get so much negative feedback on it that they'll just give it up as a bad job

Glossy Mag.

I finaly got it yesterday. If you read the blurb the girl wearing 'flimsy trousers' has white 'Versace' trousers, hardly ideal biking wear but probably more sturdy than average jeans.Overall a bit pretentious and not really written to suit there target audience, but the price is right.Wish I could ride like the Tiger rider.

Thumbs down tell them what you think!

I think everyone should contact that magazine and tell them what a load of old cobblers that glossy 'magazine' was. Otherwise another one will be coming through the letter box in a couple of months :-(
