I played for nearly a decade, so I understand that addiction. It just got repetative and boring so I quit. When Blizzard gets around to making something new and entertaining, I'll give it a try. That new shooter looks good but it's all kill count and no story. :frown2:
I'm so old school it hurts. I play Steel Beasts (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtFS7MhKZK8 for a representative example) which is a deadly accurate armored warfare simulation actually used by several militaries for training. It's a lot of fun when there are a dozen or so players on opposing sides.
I remember Steel Beasts! I play Red October every so often; it's an infantry and tank simulator. I don't know about SB, but RO had three crew slots (driver, MG, and gunner/commander) that could be filled by players- with internal communication- to play as a realistic crew. It's very dated now and the infantry models are a bit rough but the community keeps the tanks going with player mods.
More recently I've played War Thunder, which has the option of planes or tanks, with the planes being the more 'simulator' version and the tanks being more 'arcade' style.
I'm on World of Warships now, and the same team puts out a 'World of' tank and a flight game, all in a quick-access arcade style.
hi. my name is Jim. and I have 3 Alienwares... my steam library alone has 85 games... I have four boxes, unboxed, from my last move - full of games... I tried consoles, can't move with that analog, no inertia, slow turning thumbsore... I have polycarbon gaming surface, two different gamepads (logitech g13 and wolfman)... I am 41 years old and I've been playing "computer games" since my Commodore 64 days (1985) and a weird German made console with 4 game cartridges before that dating all the way back to 1980...
... life is good... can't wait for
Fallout4, DeusEx, TheUnit and waiting for a dozen other games to go on discounts so that I can purchase them...
59 games in steam, 4 crates of games in my loft spanning back 2 decades.
Embarrassingly my first PC game was rise of the robots. How i wish it could have been something cooler/better.
Don't tend to buy many NEW new games now, I'll start playing fallout 3 when fallout 4 comes out and pick fallout 4 up on a steam sale at some point. I don't need the latest graphics, If I'm always just behind the curve I'll never notice.
Besides, I'm a strategy-whore, Bad graphics and games that take weeks to play are my wheelhouse,
Frick. My boy ordered it Sunday and it arrived Tuesday. I about told him to stay home from school Wednesday to binge, but we settled on a couple of chore-free nights I don't know much about it, but his expectations were met, he loves it. Your time is coming!
My 3 boys are addicted to League of Legends. I don't get the waste of time myself.
I took them to see the world finals in a local cinema that was streaming it live from Germany. So many nerds in one place at one time at 3.00 a.m. is very scary. I would prefer to be surrounded by 1%ers

You wake up. The room is spinning very gently round your head. Or at least it would be if you could see it which you can't.
It is pitch black.

I have been playing the Tomb Raider games since the late 90's. That and the Myst games are the only pc games I have played.
I was looking forward to the last TR game but from what I can tell it will be "online" only? No cd?
I heard about a steam version - whatever that is - but you need high speed connection to use it.
Lurking around the TR game forums hasn't helped.
Anyone know if the stand alone cd will be released for the US market?
