Yes folks, one of the motorcycling highlights of the summer is rapidly approaching! Vintage Bike Days will be the last weekend of the month and I'm heading over there for party city! Racing, vintage bikes, a huge swap meet, group rides, and nightly hellraising are the order of the day at this fantastic event. I'll be riding over with several Bro's from the BIR and one of our folks from Philly has locked on a block of rooms at one of the local motels which we will use as a headquarters and party central. Hoping to see some of you out there! Joe :chug:

At least eight (8) of us from Charlotte will be there riding a mixed bag of bikes that include Moto Guzzi, FJRs, a Sportster, Gold Wing, T100, and my Bionic Bonnie. Flat track races in Ashland, Ohio for sure on Friday. Check it out HERE.
P.S. to Boozefighter: I grew up in Joliet before joining the USAF in '65.

Yep, the flat track racing is fantastic. BTW, have you been back in this neck of the woods lately? Lots of changes and it's the fastest growing city in Il. Joe

Boozefighter,
I haven't been back to Joliet in about ten years. The new speedway/dragway is only about a mile from where I grew up...big change there! My best friend, Bob, still operates Oestreich Lock & Key on Mills Road, send him some business and my regards.

I'm going…
I'll look for you there Joe. I'm guessing that I'll recognize you somehow.

GeoD, looking forward to meeting you. I'll be on my tang and white T-100, wearing a BIR t-shirt, with a backward ball-cap. When not actually riding, I'll be hanging around at one of the beer vendors. See you there! Joe :-D

I just moved to PA last year. I'm only half a day's ride from there now, so I'm thinking about going on a whim.
If I were to show up there last minute, would I stand a chance of getting a hotel room or a campsite?
Would Also like to confirm helmets aren't required in OH?
