If school is in session or the kiddos use the playground, I'd say it is negligent and idiotic and reckless endangerment at best! (That's the paramedic in me speaking.)

If not, well around here you'd be risking a pretty hefty speeding ticket. Is it worth it? I wouldn't think so.

Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
Why do you ask Robert? IMHO it along with hospitals and old folks homes is the only place where I agree with speed cameras. Course a school late at night and weekends is just a building.

Even a blind speeding squirrel in a Camaro can hit a lamp post, once in a while! :-D

It is both stupid and reckless, Arch, which you well know.

It is both provocatively stupid and reckless to posit this query
on this forum.

So, how bored are you...?

I would say it was at any age Arch. :-D

Here loss of licence, twice over the speed limit, school zones are regularly policed at going in time and coming out.
Also there is a speed limit for overtaking stationary school buses.

depends on a number of things obviously the usual time of day and day of week. However there's a h@ll of a lot more than that that should be taken into account.

We have heavily enforced school zones over here - which is reasonable. But the pollies in their blind obedience to be seen to being doing something even if useless etc, still put the school zones on roads that have a school but no school gate (gate is on another road), or roads that have a barrier median strip and an overhead bridge (so no kid is even on the footpath to run out on the road). They also have a blind 90min AM and PM active time for the zones. This does NOT cover all periods of use of the school just some.

So you can easily speed passed a marked school zone on a school day and it not be reckless and stupid, and not speed passed another but not pay attention and that IS reckless and stupid....

In this day and age with solar power and computers we should have schoool zones active when needed and used and not just active because of some centrally mandated timeframe.
