On Sunday mid morning (after the chill had gone) I took my wife on my RS up through our local meandering, winding stretch of road up to Mt Glorious near Brisbane. Aptly named.

It has a combination of climbing 20 and 40kph corners, smooth sweeping bends, beautiful straight sections where (if you were a hoon) you could wind it up past 200kph all through the gum forests and rainforests that we are so blessed with here in S.E. Queensland. These are some of the nicest roads and areas that you could ask for.

Bikes pass by frequently with the friendly nod (but not too frequently to give you RSI) All excepting the HD’s that is

There are the smatterings of roadside crosses and signs that depict motorcycles skewing out of control (with the added Excessive Speed has caused accidents in this area!!) that give you timely reminders along the way.

Up at the top is a great biker friendly café – Maiala – were you meet with mates and talk about ‘stuff’. The coffee and the full breakfast is excellent..

Last weekend I met DaveM up there with his racing mates as they passed through and had done the long circuit around Mt Mee (another biker haven albeit with the “signs”)

Life doesn’t get much better than this!!

I love my Triumph and what it does to and for me, and my life..

I felt that I had to share my slice of heaven …

Now it’s your turn……

I should add that these are not my pictures but are someone else’s of the area. I have never bothered to stop the enjoyment to take photos. How slack!

Ten minutes from my house. Beyond the curve are lots of twisties - all going downhill. It leads to Derwent Valley where they tested Barnes Wallace's Bouncing Bomb because it resembled the d-amn they were to bomb for real. The river on the right leads to the submerged village of Ladybower.

Silly bloody censor taking out the correct word d-amn! Duh!

My slice of Heaven - what's yours?

Mine's a Guiness thanks Steven, I thought you'd never ask !

If you said those Qld pics were NZ I would have believed you, yes we have Aussie gum trees too.

Been on that road Arch, did all my BSA riding as a kid all around the Lake District.

I take it that's a Texas BBQ you're standing in front of Sweat ? :-D

Ride on !

I wish, it was just a rest stop table near Leakey, TX but it is moto-riding heaven.
