To everyone who said the valves would be damaged. I'm sad to say you were right.

She's down on power at lower RPMs and she's started dying when I'm coming to a stop. Smelled gas in the garage this morning also. All of these items are firsts for her.

I'm taking her back to the dealer today. Actually spoke with the owner and a loaner will be waiting for me when I get there. I wonder when they will want it back? I wonder if I will give it back until my bike is fixed?

What a rotten break! Hope the dealership gets the parts and fixes the problems soon.

I wouldn't if I were in your position. Knowing the nature of the original problem they should have checked for valve damage right off. :hammer:

Sorry about your luck Lovel....has your dealer not heard of doing a leakdown test???? Best of luck, but I'd find someone new to do business with....you could send it to me but the commute would be a rough one....

Cheers

Having dropped a timing chain in a car engine at idle and bending 7 of the 8 valves, I would have checked for valve damage first.
I am no rocket surgeon when it comes to things mechanical, but these guys are getting paid to do their job.

Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
Ask why they did not do a compression test when the new camchain was fitted, seems to me these guys are a waste of time, they should have had the head off and inspected the valves as soon as they found the chain had snapped, this always bends the valves it was just a matter of how many, the order for a new camchain and valves etc could then have been put in straight away and you would now be back on the road, seems to me your dealing with a bunch of amateurs, I would now give them a cutoff time for the repair before I demand a full refund on the bike, in writing to them a solicitor and to Triumph. As well as a courtesy bike until your is either fit or the refund is in your bank account. Just not good enough at all.

That absolutely b!ows. You've got to be going out of your mind by now. I hope the service manager is cooking you breakfast every morning and fetching your slippers and nightcap every night!
