Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anybody has tried the new yamaha r1 or know anybody living with one?! Im half interested in getting my 675 a liter sized stable mate. I want something attractive, relatively comfy, reliable. The yamaha would appear to tick all the boxes ( i find the gixxer appears to do great in reviews but the looks to me are not in the same league). I'm also particularly interested to hear what anybody may or may not have experienced with throttle lag .... a local dealer said this is mainly something that affects US bikes and not EU bikes due to different fueling and emissions.
Any opinions ??

P.S. its a ***** shame the team that brought us the 675 dont go and create a larger liter sized bike. It would be incredible....

Yup... but in the mean time... there is room in my stable for two bikes. i reckon the 675 is more focused than the r1, blade and gsxr's of this world (in terms of riding position) which is great for when i hit the track... its my dedicated weapon of choice! But i really want to add a liter bike for blasting backroads and doing the odd openclass track day.
R1 looks most attractive of the 1 liter superbikes to me (presently)... actually prefer it to the 1098... but ..and big but.... its an inline 4. Has anyone ridden one ? Any opinions ?
