I was talking with the owner of a HD V-Rod, and commented on the solid wheels. I asked if he could tell any difference. He said they significantly increased the effect of the wind. He also talked about the "hand brake" and "foot brake," so I was wondering if this was an accurate observation? Anyone have any experience along this line?
I test rode a V rod when they first came out and yes, you get blown all over with the solid wheels. A bad idea for the front at least. On the other hand it really is a sweet motor. If they put it in a decent handling chassis it'd be a bike to have.
I was trying to be nice to a fellow rider, but at one point in our conversation, he referred to his V-Rod as a "High-Tech Harley." Is that a contradiction in terms?

Just next time really upset him, and let him know the engine/transmission are designed by Porsche...
Yep, that's right. The V-Rod is a foo-foo Euro-bike... May as well give away a white helmet to everyone that buys one, like the Beemer's do...
