I know you guys read! My title got shortened automatically, I guess, because I used quotation marks. The full title was- Anybody read "40 Summers Ago"?

I found the book "40 Summers Ago" referenced in a Cycle World article. It's available through the Johnson Motors site. The subject is when Steve McQueen and Bud Ekins rode in the International Six Day Trials on Triumph motorcycles.

I'm thinking about asking for it for Father's Day. If it's no good, I'll ask for something else. I'm not that interested in the Hollywood connection. I'm more interested in the ISDT. I followed the trials and dreamed of riding in it in my old steel-tank Penton days.

Thanks.

No but it sounds interesting, I will check into it. You mentioned Penton. I rode a Penton only once. Loved it, but a curious thing happened. It died in a stream. I found neutral and after a few kicks it fired up ....when I eased out the clutch the bike went backwards. The owner of the bike laughed his rear off saying that happens some times. Fun bike.
