It seems that there is a growing Buzz about HHO - having no opinion on the matter I find it interesting nonetheless. http://www.mikeoliveri.com/2006/05/1...native-energy/ Just imagine what this could mean to the Oil companies if they cannot tharwt this. Water powered cars are not a new idea scroll down and find comment on the Garrett Carb.

Agreed, but you have to try! :-D Personally I think many are psychologically exhausted, what with all that is familiar.... and stuff going on, change, however it happens - is inevitable! But today I was entertained by the Black Swan principle - inasmuch as until Australia was explored people never considered that there could ever be such a thing - for aren't all swans white - seemingly not.

Definitely amazing Tryp, same thing about black sheep, first discovered in Australia, yeah true, the place is full of 'em. So many in fact they even export them to the US. Hawaii I believe. :-D

I keep hearing that KB - one can live in hope but what exactly is bogus here? I am no scientist by any means and don't for one minute think that this is a perpetual motion dodad, nor do I fear the unexpected but I do believe there is much to be explained here.

See TBirdnz's topic labeled Predictions. You won't find me saying we can't run engines efficiently on water. On the contrary I'm quite sure one day we will. But remember, you have to create more energy than you use for it to be of any practical application.

But that's true perhaps of gasoline, the infrastructure is there already so that argument is mute (type of swan).

Well here's a future fuel, Anti-matter and this is what Wiki's got to say about it: Fuel for space ships.

"In particle physics, anti-matter extends the concept of the anti-particle to matter, whereby anti-matter is composed of anti-particles in the same way that normal matter is composed of particles. For example an anti-electron (positron) and an anti-proton could form an anti-hydrogen atom in the same way that an electron and a proton form a normal matter hydrogen atom. Furthermore, mixing of matter and anti-matter would lead to the annihilation of both in the same way that mixing of anti-particles and particles does, thus giving rise to high-energy photons (gamma rays) or other particle–anti-particle pairs. The particles resulting from matter-anti-matter annihilation are endowed with energy equal to the difference between the rest mass of the products of the annihilation and the rest mass of the original matter-anti-matter pair, which is often quite large."

Does it matter ?

Tbird, that article is correct, but it leaves out a lot of important facts. Creating and containing antimatter is not going to happen in a portable configuration any time this month. Or next month. And when you combine antimatter and matter, you get... wait for it... radiation. If that was a good source of transportation energy, we could just power cars and motorcycles with spent fuel or industrial sources. I might just join the Luddites on that idea.

Of course, there could be factors I'm overlooking, or some brilliant new idea just around the corner. I eagerly await being made to look foolish.

It's good to have expectations that have proven track records.
