While riding down one of my favorite roads this morning at a pretty good clip I noticed something in the road, I slow down when I notice that it is a bunch of somethings and they are moving. Turns out it was 6 puppies playing in the road, when I got about 30 ft away they ran for the ditches(no puppies are harmed in this story).
So the question is, How bad do you feel if you run over a puppy or six? :-D

Not too bad at all as long as I don't break the bike.

In 99 I ran over a puppy that ran out from behind a bush and under the front wheel. I wasn't quick enough to miss it. The cop who responded said I slid with it under my wheel for 15 feet before I fell down. I broke a collarbone and a rib, and partially collapsed a lung. My aerostitch and HJC were totalled. The lady who owned the dog had been cited multiple times about letting the dog run free. The police report identified the loose dog as 100% the cause of the accident. She didn't have homeowners insurance, and just split when I sued to recover my costs. Too bad for the dog, but the @#$% owner shouldn't be allowed to have a dog. My shoulder still hurts.

Right after the accident when the dog and I were flopping around in the street giving each other the evil eye, she screamed and came running out of the house, running right to the dog. She never even acknowledged I existed, much less that her carelessness/thoughtfullness ruined my day.

So I felt a little bad about hitting the dog, but not nearly as mad as I felt at the lady.

Sounds like you ran over the wrong dog.

That's what I was thinking.

A puppy? I'd feel awful. Hell, I'll pull over and move a turtle out of the road.

I might not have a soft spot AT ALL for someone who would clean their bike rather than ride it, but I do have a big soft spot for little animals on the road.

I do that, because my mom always did when I was growing up. I do it because she likes to hear about it.

Ran over a possum just last night, they're vermin here, illegal to have them on your property, they transmit TB (as in disease) to stock. Did some landowner a favour.

I sort of got target fixated on it.

They're protected in OZ, national icon :-D

Ride on !
