When I was younger and even dumber than today, I was travelling in the 3rd lane of Rt 80 eastbound on a spotless white 1981 XJ550 Seca at about 85mph. I was late for work. I saw the trooper in the left lane heading westbound. Next thing I know he is behind me with his lights on. He was cool
just gave me a ticket for like 10mph over. The speed limit was 55mph then. And there are many other stories that can be told and most of them aren't even lies...

Its not that exciting really . The stretch of road we are talking about is a nice road that when I first rode it was signed at 100kmh. The road is definetly a 100 road but the revenue generated from that was not enough so they lowered the limit to 80 and resurfaced the whole stretch to make it attractive .I ride this road twice everyday and know it like the back of my hand. Better in fact. I share this lovely stretch of twists and sweeping bitumen with log trucks, cages, kangaroos and wombats. We all know when we ride there is a point when we are ' on the edge ' of ability and bike and conditions , but I was nowhere near that edge . The sweeper I was in when hit with a mobile radar on a borg mobile going the opposite direction , I have in the past taken with ease at 160kmh. I entered that day at about 130kmh with no traffic anywhere but as I looked through I saw the borg mobile coming .
I was lent over quite a bit so only had the engine and rear brakes to wash off speed and sadly for me couldn't wash off enough.
Because of the large amount of riders going down in my neighbourhood , mainly the little boy bee buzzers on their cbr600's and ninjas or such bikes , and tying up resources of the borg empire in ambulances and such and hitting beautiful roads like the Black Spur on sundays in swarms and terrifying ma and pa kettles , there is a major crackdown and shakeup of riders and they are having a no tolerance hissy fit.
At least with winter coming on all those weekend warriors will be packing away their bikes untill next summer , and the borg robots will thin out .
The borg have of course changed all the rules about demerit points now as well . It used to be that each offense stayed with you for 12 months and then it was gone , so when you got close to the loss of license in points you just waited a while till some points washed off and you were good to go. Now its three years . I was 29 over the limit . That used to be 3 points and a fine. Now its 4 points a fine and one month suspension.

Their plan of course is to get me sitting in a rocker knitting .

Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
Oh dear, my last three were on a road I use daily, long sweeping right hander perfect vis and good surface wound up the speed 4 and hit about 110mph, a van was about a mile in front wound off slightly, same as you a unmarked camera car coming the other way clocked me, he turned round and I pulled over, cool cop did me for over 60mph, so no court appearance and only three points, good guy really. :-D

305 scrambler stalls @ light. Kick her over & give a couple (strait pipes) 10g revs to clean her out. Never looked in the mirrio. You guessed it a cop behind. Got 6 tickets - 1 for expired license. He was gonna tow the bike. I said "no way, I am only 2 mi from home. He sat across the street for 40 min in a mexican standoff, to make sure I didnt ride away. I finally started to walk the bike down the road. When I rounded the turn I pop started her & was in my garage before he got done w/ his donut. Snuffer nuts went on the nextday & I always looked in the mirrior after that! Aah the good ole days.

I'll just go with the last one...Sunday before last, almost home, long straightaway in front of the elementary school, deputy behind the school sign with a laser. Got me from a quarter mile away at least. "Sir, do you know what the speed limit was back there?" Nope, I really wasn't paying attention, probably 30 or 35... "Well, you do know that it wasn't 70, don't you?" Wrote me for 49 in a 30, 2 points, 58 bucks. When I take my helmet off and see their expressions when they see the gray in my hair and beard, I know it won't be too bad.

Last biggie "racing on the highway and excesive speed". The judge didn't agree with the cop cause it "really wasn't me" It was my buddies who got away. Still cost me $400 bucks to get out of it. The last one was 85 in a 55. I esplained to the cop I was on the first leg of a long weekend. He said slow down and have a good weekend. What a guy. I think gray hair helps. :-D :-D :-D A buddy of mine was speeding through an urban area (Newark, NJ)when he got pulled over. The cop got out of the car laughing. He said no one on a bike has ever stopped for him before and let him go.

My licence seems to be permanently dirty. Biggest was 140mph on A14 about fifteen years ago. Got clocked by Helicopter who radioed car, who nicked me. Officer said if I'd been doing 99.9 mph he'd have cautioned me as the road was so clear. He asked me if I'd seen the helicopter, I told him no as I thought it might be best to keep my eyes on the road at 140mph! He laughed at that. In the end after a great letter to the magistrate from my boss at the time they gave me a hefty fine and a two week ban! Phoned the Ins to inform them. They asked 6 months or 12? I said 2 weeks. The Phone went quiet then they said ok nothing on the form to register that so don't mention it again. So Clean licence no hike on ins and only the fine to pay. Best thing I ever did lol.

How times change. Nowadays this F*ckwit nanny state would've likely put me in the nic for that.

The rest, caused by concentrating on where I'm going properly riding safe at speed and not looking out for yellow boxes by the road, or men in white vans with dubious speed measuring equipment or all the other extraneous ***** the govt has lined the roads with.

I get written up for speeding while driving my car about every 3 years but have yet to get pulled over whilst on my motorcycle, knock on wood . It's ironic too because I go much, much faster on my Sprint than I do in my car.

I've probably just jinxed myself.
