The best use for an old bike is to let your frineds ride it when they are in need...
Case in point: I've got a friend who's 750 Commando has been sitting around unused for years, while life/ wife/ and family led him astray. He's owned the thing since it was new, and has ridden it across the country twice, so there was not way he was ever gonna get rid of it, but it had become part of the furniture...
He came down one weekend last summer, and I put him on the Kawi and we went out for a ride for the day... he didn't stop grinning for a week.
I got an email from him yesterday. The Norton is coming back from the shop next week with the new bushings and the wiring in place, ready to go for the season. All it needed was a small infusion of a little cash, and a 100 hp shove on the ass to get him riding again...
Keep it for your friends. You'll be doing yourself a favor...
