Notice they were real carefull earthing that copter out before touchin anything, cool job but what were they actually doing, Yes if the money was right I would do it, looks like fun.

thats the point of being in a chopper...ya don't get shocked...its the same as if a person tangles with a high line while in a parachute. its a safe job...its the fall that ya should worry about....

someone asked what they were doing?...they have infrared cameras that look for hot spots on the lines...potential weak or faulty spots...they then go out and repair them by spicing them. or to do insulator cleaning. where they make sure that the ceramic insulators are clean and in good shape. looks like a total blast...where do i sign up....

Me doing that job would take years off my wife's life. If it weren't for that, I'd do it if the pay was good enough.

Helicopters sometimes build up substantial static charge on their own just from the blades moving through the air. I think a few people have gotten significant shocks over the years from touching a helicopter before it (literally) grounds itself; earths itself for those of you used to that term.
