Fixed at home every morning!

Mmmmmmmmm.

But seriously, I would take any good Carne Adovada from any good restaraunt anywhere in New Mexico.

I can't say that my choice is gonna set any gastronomic palates on fire, but...

It's not so much that the food is a gourmets delight, but the peace I get from when I eat at this particular restaurant.

Here in Tyler there's a place called Bruno's. It serves what I would call your basic Italian food. Spaghetti, lasagna, calzones, pizza, etc. I've been eating there since 1977.

One of my favorite routines, which is about once a week, is to to eat there. I usually (90% of the time) ride the bike, either the Beemer or the Triumph. Everyone knows me, I'm a regular, the guy on the motorcycle. I order my favorite menu item, a salami and provolone cheese sandwich. I open my newspaper read it front to back as I eat. No one bothers me, the waitress know what I drink and fills it up without request. I'm in my own world.

As someone who serves in an eccelsiastical position you can't imagine what a slice of heaven this place is to me. No phone calls, no members needing my attention, no one asking anything other than my order (which they already know) and paying my bill. If this place ever closes I'm not sure what I'm gonna do.

There is a small pub in a mediaeval village in Kent called the Castle in Chiddingstone Causeway. They do the most fabulous Roast Lamb shank, with thick gravy, Roast Potatos, Peas, and Onion Sauce. Oh God, I am drooling just thinking of it. Washed down with three or four pints of Spitfire Kentish Ale.... Or a Drop of the Bishop's Finger.

Then, for an all time favourite dessert - Cold Stewed Apples with Custard.

Thats it.

I'm done. I must now go and have a lie down and a cup of tea.

Being an old country boy, I dont have a very refined pallate so Ruth's Chris Steak House would have been the place for me. The filet, medium rare, spinach au gratin, broiled tomatoes, and bread pudding with whiskey sauce.

My momma's Sunday fried chicken with rice, thick chicken gravy, snap beans, fresh corn, sliced tomato and cucumber and homemade rolls with lots of presweetened iced tea and peach cobbler or apple pie for dessert.
No longer available but almost duplicated. Its missing that loving touch only a momma can give. That's my fav meal.

Favorite restaurant?
Chet's. Fantastic marinated mullet, fried or broiled.
Shrimp Basket - Wonderful fried grouper and hush puppies with onion, corn and jalapeno.
Georgios - The place for gyros and Greek pizza.
Dog House Deli - Great hotdogs. No heartburn!
Sonny's BarBQue - Wonderful potato bar and 20% off with my Old Fart Card. :-D

I used to like Mickey D's once in a while but after two kids screaming for happy meals for 8 years I hope they go out of business.

This is tough, but I will say a place in Santa Barbara called "The Palace Grill". Cajun-Creole-Italian

My wife went to UCSB and went there all the time. When we met she took me up there, it is about an hour and a half drive. She got me hooked. Going there for our 1st year anniversary. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

have some peanut butter toast and a nice cuppa' tea Mare

I like the plain chunky peanuts and salt kind that you have to stir up to mix, that and 100% wholewheat bread without the high fructose corn syrup in it like you get at an organic bread place...

wonderful and good protein too.
