I'm looking for a pair of pants that provide good protection. After some research I found Cycleports Kevlar Jeans online. They look pretty good and seem to offer better protection than Draggin Jeans but are a lot more expensive. Has anyone ourchased them or has another recommendation?

I have had a pair of Draggin Jeans for a couple of year. They are kevlar lined, and very comfortable, although they are a little warm for the hot, humid Alabama summers. They are easily maintained and wear like iron. For more info, check out www.dragginjeans.com.

+1 for Draggin Jeans. The wife and I have a couple of different pairs each. A mate did a 140kph lowside in them and walked away with bruising but no abrasion. Good enough for me.

That's interesting. A friend of mine swears by them but he's never took a slide so we didn't know how they'd hold up. I might get a pair myself for summer.

Another endorsement for Draggin Jeans. But if you get the hard armor, order big. It takes up a lot of room.

Another option is the Tour Master DSX denim pants. They look like the Draggin' Jean, but used perforated leather panels as lining in the impact areas instead of Kevlar. They also have removable, CE approved knee armor.

$67.99 at this site:

I'm thinking about getting a pair, for me and my 16 year old son.

+1 for Draggin Jeans here, although they are cut a bit low in the hip, which is a bit irritating - nice draft over yer kidneys! I mean ok, make a fashion statement, but not when I'm riding thanks.

Icon has some denims and cargo pants which I have, er, road tested. They look great and work good for around town, but if you do a lot of freeway riding, suggest you forget denim and get leathers or other pants that have armor.

I have some Xtreme Design Jeans. Heaps cheaper than Draggin in Oz but as good IMO.

Haven't road tested them either (that's a good thing).. I prefer the security of leather but above 30C I wear them for shear comfort.

I have the CE armour in the knees as well.

About ten years ago, I purchased a pair of BMW leather, lined riding pants. Folks, this is the last pair of protective trousers that I or my descendent's will ever need. These are cut in the style of work jeans, very thick leather, a plaid lining. and thick removable knee armour. I'm thinking that they took the design from the leathers worn by Panzer or U-Boot crew-members. When temps drop, I don a set of long-johns under the pants and stay warm as toast. These would probably be also suitable for flying a bi-plane, preferably a Fokker D-7. I haven't seen these around at the BMW store for quite a spell now, and I believe they were introduced around the time of the R1100C. Best leather trousers I've ever encountered!!
