Mrs. Welshrob will have a 200 Dollar bouquet of red roses waiting for her on her desk when she arrives at work tomorrow. Although it must be said that on Valentines Day, $200 doesn`t seem to buy half as many roses as it does during the rest of the year. What are you doing for your partner, what is your partner doing for you, or has it all become commercialised Pah Humbug, just like christmas.com? Discuss.

I'll be doing the same as the last 4 years and it's just going to work on just another day...

Since losing my wife, my daughter and granddaughter have moved in with me. A cold front is due to arrive here tomorrow (Wednesday). My daughter's favorite cold-weather meal is corned beef and cabbage and cornbread. That's what she'll have waiting on her when she gets home from work

You got it. Bah, humbug. It's a rip off and I don't need a day set aside each year to tell my wife how I feel. I shall save my money until next week and take her for a meal at half tomorrows price. It will be all the more enjoyable.

We are planning on getting matching diamond studs for our ears but we're not sure how our schedule works out. We might wind up working at our tanning salon and giving our girls the night off which means a nice romantic dinner of Teriyaki take-out behind the counter.

Not sure just yet, but definitely getting the studs.

I consider this holiday a "Halmark holiday". :hammer: Just another advertising scam. I also consider my anniversary more important that this day. Plus why is there a special day to prove your love to your significant other. Everyday should be that day.

Saying that, I probably will cook dinner for my wife, get a card, not from hallmark and some small gift. Not sure yet.

A good while ago now, I went to my mothers funeral on Valentines day. Also disgusting time in the flower shop ordering a wreath whilst everyone else was ordering roses. Consequently hated the day and my husband got really jumpy each year about - should I be doing something or shouldn't I.

Then along came good luck, nature intervened and Valentine's day turned into my daughters birthday. Shes 13 this year and a nice lass. Ever since then the day has been a present chucking contest for everyone and I don't care how tacky it is.

Lil

Brolane - Hope time and circumstance heals for you too.
