Honda takes to the sky with a new mode of transportation that is 30% more fuel effecient, and faster, than comparable corporate jets (due to the unique engine placement over the wings), and I was fortunate to have a small role to encourage the company to locate in North Carolina. Here is a bit of the news article today, found on hondanews.com:

Honda Aircraft Company to Establish World Headquarters and Production Facility in Greensboro, North Carolina

HondaJet to be produced at new plant for delivery to customers inGREENSBORO, N.C. 02/09/2007 --

Honda Aircraft Company, Inc., today announced plans to establish its world headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, with construction of a new 215,000 square foot headquarters facility and hangar at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) airport. The company also confirmed plans to manufacture its advanced light jet, HondaJet, at a new plant to be constructed adjacent to its new headquarters. Further details about the production facility, including the size, scope of operations and construction timetable, will be announced at a later date. Honda plans to begin delivery of HondaJet to customers in 2010.

Not about your Honda jet but years ago I saw a picture of a 650 cc Triumph powered copter but to go for a flight in it would have tested the faith of the keenest Triumph fan. Smart looking plane Honda have there.

You can't see it from the photos, but the nose section ("cockpit") really looks like the head of a circumcised penis.

Also, note that the engines mount to the top of the wings, not the fuselage.

It's about the size of a Cessna CJ1.

900, Great job! We were out riding today and speedydave and couple others were telling me about this jet and the facility. So good for the state to have Honda, Google, BioTech, NASCAR project etc., helps bring us into the here and now with the loss/transition from manufacturing furniture, textiles, etc.

Very cool!

bobw3592 -

Thanks for the accolades. See my contribution to the General Forum topic about what kind of job do you do. I think you'd agree with the toungue in cheek sentiment about my job description.
