I miss the lively conversations that used to contain political opinion. This is the one forum where non bike related topics are permitted, but I couldn't find where that policy had been changed to exclude any political comments.

I think the big problem with political discussions is that the 51% of the population that was stupid enough to vote republican last time still doesn't realize how dumb they are. This was of course mitigated by a decent percentage of them coming to their senses and voting in democrat control of the house and senate but were still saddled with that pinhead nitwit that stole the election in 2000.
Hopefully with Hillery back in control in a year the country will get back on track, not that that'll help the over 3000 dead in Iraq so far.

Cyclebob, I agree! However, I miss the lively conversations which we used to enjoy about biking, life on the road, and some of the amusing shenanigans which can occur at places where bikers tend to congregate to raise hell. I'm afraid that those days are over on this site. I still can't figure out why! Joe :lgh:

At least Republicans know how to spell their candidate's name.
And if more intrusive government, higher taxes, violations of the second amendment, and Bill living in the White House means "back on track", then yes, I'm sure a Hillary presidency would put us right back on track. No more of this 'leading according to your principles, even when it's unpopular' garbage; every policy determined by focus group polling! Fantastic way to run a country!

The main issue I feel is.... that never before has a phenomena such as the internet had such an effect upon the political process. This regime hadn't banked on protecting itself from something that evolved at the same time as the 'ravelings and machinations' were being perpetrated and that 'we' were watching, blogging even. So unexpected was the counter culture's voice that largely it was ignored - by the time action was initiated it was too late. The MSM failing it's readership, kowtowing the administrations false flags and loyally pulling it's shroud of distraction and partisan ideology over balanced perspective and it's debt to the citizenry, failed. As much as we're annoyed at those wayward brothers and sisters, who had been deceived into support of a Mendacious government - it is really the arrogance of bUshco that failed to see what the evolving Internet could do and reveal - because really we've all been deceived for centuries by kings/queens/PM's and presidents, going about their ruling. But now there's a mechanism in place that allows freedom of communication and access to information as never before - The people have largely come around and see sense now, but not clarity - as of yet. The pattern will change soon........oh and Hillary is running but she won't win in 2008 - Gore will, and rightly so - he is the only inspirational candidate let alone the only valid one.

This isn't the first time I've seen this sentiment posted here in recent days. I find it very amusing. I'm impressed by, no matter what a person's allegiances, spin can always be done to support their view. It wasn't that long ago when Georgie's ratings were sky-high, even (and especially) after the Iraq war began. So, these decisions WERE popular, and even got him re-elected. My, our memories are short. And you don't think he's effected by the ratings? Rummy's out, global warming is in, etc. Does anybody really think he's changed his mind on global warming? I seriously don't think so. He only brings it up because he has to and it's popular.
